Source Module | Select the type of entity you want to sync. For example, Asset. |
Product Type | If you choose Asset as the source module, you can further refine your selection by selecting a product type. For example, Server |
Destination CI Type | Select the CI under which you wish to sync the assets. For example, Server. |
Description | Enter the sync rule purpose and usage. For example, "Syncing Server from asset to Server in CMDB". |
Status | Enable or disable the sync rule. Disabled sync rules cannot be used for sync. |
Filter Asset and create CIs | You can further refine the source module selected using this option. Choose the column, criteria, and value. Filter the module selected based on certain criteria. Use the You can choose between the AND and OR operations to define the subcriteria. For example: Asset State │ is │In Use, In Store |
Map Asset Type fields CI Type fields | Map the CI Type field to the entity field. Only the mapped field information will be synced. For example, Serial Number (CI Type field) - Serial Number (Asset field) Only fields of the same type can be mapped. |
Create relationship form Asset | Define relationships between the CIs based on the asset, user, software installation, and other entity fields. Select the relationship type by using predefined or custom relationship types. Select the destination CI type Select the relevant asset/ software installation field. Click For example, Relationship Type: Owned by Destination CI Type: Department Asset Field: Department The associated asset, user, or software installation will automatically be created as a CI if it is not already a CI. |
Delete CI when linked asset is deleted | Enable this field to delete the CI when the synced entity is deleted. |
Create drop-down option if it does not exist | Enable this option to add the entity fields to relevant picklists in CMDB. |
