The remote desktop sharing feature in UEM products enable administrators to access remote computers in a network. Currently, AssetExplorer can be integrated with one of the following UEM products:
- Endpoint Central
- Patch Manager Plus
- Remote Access Plus
- Application Control Plus
- Vulnerability Manager Plus
- Device Control Plus

Benefits
- UEM agents require no authentication to gain access to a remote computer.
- Technicians can view and access remote computers using HTML 5 viewer.
- Administrators can prompt users for confirmation before providing access to a remote desktop.
Prerequisites
- Browser - HTML 5 Viewer is supported on the following versions of the browser:
- Edge (all versions)
- Internet Explorer 10 and later versions
- Firefox 38 and later versions
- Google Chrome 31 and later versions
- Safari 8 and later versions
- Ports - The following TCP ports should be open on the server where the UEM product is hosted to establish a connection with a remote computer:
- 8443: Secure port to establish a remote connection as well as for File Transfer.
- 8444: Used to establish a remote connection as well as for File Transfer
- Enable the UDP port 8443 to let your viewer directly control your remote agent. However, an initial handshake will happen via the UEM product. Know more on different communication modes here.
- Ensure that the above-mentioned ports are opened on the UEM server and are reachable by the UEM agent as well as the viewer machine.
Initiate UEM Agent-based Remote Sessions from Assets Module
Enable UEM product to connect remotely from
Admin > Discovery > Remote Control Tools. Learn more.- In the Assets tab, select Workstation on the left navigation pane under IT Assets.
- Select the name of your preferred workstation.
- In the workstation details page is displayed, go to Remote Control > UEM Product.
- The remote control will be activated.
