Add Users


AssetExplorer manages all the users in the organization from Admin > Organizational Details > UsersYou can add users to your organization manually or import them in bulk.

Role Required: SDAdmin

Add Users manually 

  1. On the user list view page, click New.
  2. Enter the user details in the form using the pointers given below.
Field Name
Explanation
Name fields
Enter first name, middle name, and last name.
Display Name*
Provide a unique display name.
Employee ID
Provide an employee ID.
Job Title
Provide a job title.
Department
Select the user's department. 
This field is displayed only if departments are configured under Admin > Organizational Details > Department.

Phone
Add a phone number.
Mobile
Add a mobile number.
Business Impact
Select the impact the user has on the organization.
This field is displayed only if impact is configured under Admin > CMDB > Impact.

Description
Add a relevant description.
Primary Email
Add the primary email ID.
Secondary Email IDs
Add secondary email IDs if applicable.
SMS Email ID
Add the SMS email ID provided by mobile service providers.
Checkbox: Purchase Approver
Check this box to allow the user to approve purchase orders and set the approval limit within which the user can approve.
Reporting To
Enter the user's reporting manager's name. You can also choose from an existing user by clicking the icon.
* Mandatory fields
  1. Click Save or Save and add new.


Import Users 

You can add users in bulk by importing from CSV or Active Directory. You can also import users from Active Directory Groups.

To import from CSV files,
  1. Go to the user list view page.
  2. Click the down-arrow beside the New button and select Import from CSV.
  3. In the import wizard, select the file and click Submit.
  4. Now, map the field names with the column names in CSV and click Import. 
  5. To import from Active Directory, click Import from AD on the user list view page. Alternatively, you can also schedule import from Admin > Organizational Details > Active DirectoryClick here to learn more.
