Web Remote Control

Web RDP is an inbuilt tool to facilitate remote sessions on Windows machines.

Benefits
  1. Secure connection as Web Remote requires zero installation on the client's machine. It functions as a separate service and runs on 8083 port by default.
  2. Web remote it is an HTML5 browser-based utility. You can remote to Windows machines from any OS/device.
  3. Web Remote also features the session capture and replay option.

Prerequisites for taking Web Remote sessions  

  1. RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) client service should be active in the client's machine.
  2. Ensure the port 3389 is open as it is the default port on which RDP runs.
  3. If the RDP runs on a different port, you can change it in the admin page.
  4. Enable remote connections on your machine.
    1. Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System Properties > Remote > Remote Desktop.
    2. Select Allow remote connections to this computer option.

Initiate Web Remote sessions

Enable web remote functionality from Admin > Discovery > Remote Control Tools. Learn more.
  1. In the Assets tab, select Workstation on the left navigation pane under IT Assets.
  2. Select the name of your preferred workstation.
  3. In the workstation details page is displayed, go to Remote Control > Web RDP.

    4.Enter a comment about the remote session. This is mandatory.      
  1. The Web Remote will be activated. The shortcut keys and the close session icon will be displayed on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Click on the keyboard icon  to hide the short cut keys.
  3. Click on the close icon  to end the remote session.

Web Remote History

Remote session history of the workstation will be stored under the History tab. If the session was recorded, then the video will be saved alongside.
