Transfer Data from Remote AssetExplorer Server to Central AssetExplorer Server

Manually Export Data from the Remote AssetExplorer Server 

To export data from the remote server to the central server manually,
  1. Go to Admin > Discovery > Distributed Asset Scan in the remote AssetExplorer server.
  2. Click Export Data to export the asset data into a ZIP file.

  1. A confirmation message appears. Click OK to proceed.
  2. An Export Data window pops up. Click the data link to download the zip.  
  3. Send the zip file to the central server location through e-mail or through a storage device.

Manually Import Data into the Central AssetExplorer Server  

  1. In the central AssetExplorer server, go to Admin > Discovery > Distributed Asset Scan.
  2. Browse the scanned asset file to be imported from Locate zip file.
  3. Select the Site of the remote server from the drop-down.
  4. Click the Import button to upload the data.
  5. If the data is imported successfully, a success message will be displayed.

 

Auto Synchronization of Data 

If the Endpoint Central agents in the remote server can establish a connection with the central server, it is possible to set up automatic synchronization of scanned asset data between the two servers.

To set up auto synchronization of data,
  1. Navigate to Admin > Discovery > Distributed Asset Scan > Central Server Settings.

  1. Enter the Server Name or IP Address of the central server.
  2. Enter the port where the central server is installed.
  3. Enter the communication protocol to connect the central server and the remote server. Example: Http, Https.
  4. Select the central server site from the drop-down.
  5. If the Central Server is connected through a proxy server,
    1. Enable Is connected through Proxy Server check box.
    2. Enter the Proxy Server Name or the IP Address of the proxy server.
    3. Provide the proxy server port.
    4. Enter the admin credentials of the proxy server under Username and Password.

After configuring the central server settings, you can automatically export and push the data to the central server by clicking the Export and push data to central server now button.


 

Schedule Pushing of Data from Remote Server to Central AssetExplorer Server 

You can schedule to push the data from the remote AssetExplorer server to the central AssetExplorer server at periodic intervals.
  1. Go to Admin > Discovery > Distributed Asset Scan in the remote server.
  2. Click Schedule to synchronize data with central server.
  3. Select the Enable radio button.
  4. Select the number of days after which the data should be pushed to the central server.
  5. Set the date and the schedule time.
  6. If there is an issue with pushing the data to the central server, you can choose to notify the technician by providing their email address in the given field.
The outgoing mail server must be configured for this option. 
  1. Click Save
