Reconcile Software

Software Reconcile enables you to merge records of software applications from the same manufacturer. When a software application has two records (e.g. Microsoft Word and MS Word) you can merge them into a single record.

To reconcile software,
  1. Go to Software > Scanned Software.
  2. From the Scanned Software list view, select the two software that you wish to merge into one.

  1. Click Actions > Reconcile Software.
  2. Choose the parent software from the pop-up and click Reconcile.

  1. A Reconciliation Successful message will be displayed.
Only two software can be reconciled at a time.
You cannot reconcile software suite.
You cannot reconcile component software of two different suites.

After Reconciliation

  1. The purchase order and license of the child software will be transferred to the parent software and renamed accordingly.
  2. All attachments and hotfixes from the child software will be moved to the parent software, with the parent hotfix being retained if both have the same hotfix.
  3. Agreements, software metering information, upgraded licenses, downgraded licenses, CAL licenses, software audit details, software meter, and software meter history will all be transferred to the parent software.
  4. The CI associated with the child software will also be moved to the parent and renamed accordingly.
  5. If the child software is part of a suite software, the parent software will be added as a component to the suite.
  6. If both the child and parent software are components of the same suite, the child software will be removed from the suite.
  7. After reconciliation, if the child software is scanned on any machine, it will automatically be recognized as the parent software.
