Modify Device Type

Update the device type of assets based on their specifications and functionality.

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, Technicians with Add/Edit Assets permissions.
  1. In the Assets tab, select your preferred asset classification - IT Asset, Virtual Hosts and VMs, Non-IT Assets, or Asset Components.
  2. Select the asset product type.

From the asset details page:

  1. On the asset list view, click the name of the asset to be updated.
  2. The asset details page is displayed. Go to Actions > Modify Type on the toolbar.
  3. Select the product type under which the asset must be classified.
  4. Select the asset product name.
  5. Click Save.

From the asset list view:

You can bulk-update device type for assets from the list view.
  1. On the asset list view, select the preferred assets.
  2. Go to Actions > Modify Type on the toolbar.
  3. Select the product type under which the asset must be classified.
  4. Select the asset product name.
  5. Click Save.
