AssetExplorer helps monitor all software in the organization, reducing costs, eliminating security threats, and optimizing software usage.
Role Required: SDAdmin, Technicians with View Assets permission.
In AssetExplorer, you can manage all software under the Software tab.
Software Dashboard
From the software dashboard, asset managers can do the following:
- Filter the dashboard by manufacturer or site.
- View a list of compliant, under-licensed, and over-licensed software.
- View the total number of unused, rarely used, managed, prohibited, and unidentified software applications.
- Track expired license agreements.
- Monitor software usage in each workstation.
Software List View
Software applications installed on workstations and servers are scanned and listed under the Scanned Software list view. This can be accessed under Software > Scanned Software.
In the Scanned Software list view,
- View scanned software based on site, manufacturer, and software type using the respective filter drop-down.
- Search for items based on the column values using Search
.
- Calculate software compliance for all software by clicking Calculate Software Compliance.
- Calculate software compliance for individual software by selecting the software and clicking Actions > Software Compliance.
- Export the list of scanned software as PDF, HTML, XLS, or CSV by selecting Export as and choosing the desired file format.
