Introduction

AssetExplorer from ManageEngine provides end-to-end asset management for organizations. You can use AssetExplorer to manage assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.

AssetExplorer provides a single, unified view of all the configuration items (CI) or assets within your organization.
You can easily track, monitor, and manage the following:
  1. IT assets: All items that can accessed on the network through an IP address.
  2. Non-IT assets: All items that do not have an IP address but are available on the network.
  3. Software asset management: All software-related licensing, metering, and compliance.
  4. Asset components: Items that are always grouped with other IT or non-IT assets.
  5. Consumables: Single-use items managed in bulk.
  6. Purchase orders and requests: Includes purchase approvals and reports.
  7. Contracts: Includes vendor-contracts and renewal/expiry details.
Besides asset management, AssetExplorer provides Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to manage and track all configuration items (CIs) in a single repository.

Software Asset Management

  1. Software License Management: Consolidates and manages software licenses installed across the organization.
  2. Software Metering: Tracks and maintains the number of software applications that are rarely used, frequently used, and occasionally used.
  3. Software Compliance: Tracks purchased and installed licenses for license compliance and sends alerts during unauthorized software installation.

Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

CMDB on AssetExplorer helps track and manage all your configuration items (CIs) in a single repository. It contains detailed information about hardware, software, network devices, applications, and their relationships with each other. It provides the latest information of all assets in the organization.

Purchase Management

AssetExplorer offers a complete purchase managements system that helps you manage purchase orders and purchase requests with approvals. Detailed reports based on the purchase orders and requests can help you plan your asset rollout in advance.

Contracts

AssetExplorer helps you effectively manage contracts with different vendors. It tracks expiry dates and sends alerts on renewal. Detailed reports based on contracts such as contracts by maximum spend and contracts by vendors helps you negotiate and make informed decisions.
