Import CI Relationships

CI Relationships denote the dependencies between CIs. The relationships allow the users to understand the inter-dependencies between the CIs.

Asset Explorer allows you to import CI relationships from a XLS file to add relationship between the CIs. While adding the CI relationships in a XLS file, ensure the format is added as shown here:
Name of CI1
Relationship
Name of CI2
 
To import CI relationships,
Click the CMDB tab.
Navigate to Import > CI Relationship(s) from XLS.

Step 1: Locating the XLS file.
  1. In the Import CI Relationships from XLS wizard, click Choose File to locate the XLS file on your device. The guidelines for configuring the XLS file are listed on the wizard.
  2. Click Next.
Step 2: Mapping the fields
  1. Map the CI1, CI2, and the relationship type with the relevant columns in the XLS file.
  2. Click Import.
Step 3: View the Import Status
  1. Upon importing the CI relationships, the Import Summary is displayed along with the details.
  2. Click the Failed_Rows.xls link to view the list of CI relationships that have failed to import. The reasons for the failure are listed in the XLS file.
  3. Click Finish.
