Identifying the Uniqueness of Workstations
While scanning in AssetExplorer, the uniqueness of workstations is determined in the following order:
- Service Tag
- Workstation Name
If a service tag is added to the invalid service tags list, only the machine name will be considered for uniqueness identification.
During workstation scanning, the application first checks for the Service Tag. If it's empty, the workstation name will be considered. If two workstations have the same service tag or workstation name, the former will overwrite the latter's details.
For virtual machines, uniqueness is determined solely by the machine name.
