Global Search
The global search feature makes it easy to find information within AssetExplorer. You can narrow down your search results by using the module filter. You can also search through users and system logs.
To perform global search,
- Click
on the header.
- Select the module to search from.
- Type the search term.
- Press Enter on the keyboard.
Zia Search Capabilities
Zia Search provides advanced keyword-matching and field-based search capabilities to find relevant records across supported modules. You can search using exact phrases, multiple keywords, and specific field values.
Search Type | Description | Example |
Fuzzy Search | Finds relevant results when the search term contains spelling errors. | Searching for servr returns results containing server. |
Exact Search | Returns results that exactly match the specified word or phrase. Enclose a phrase in double quotation marks to search for an exact match. | Searching for "server crash" returns results containing the exact phrase. |
Multiple Keywords | Searches for results that contain multiple words in a single search. Enclose each word in double quotation marks. | Search for "server" "crash", the application to find results containing server or crash. |
Stemming Search | Finds different forms of a word based on its root form. | Searching for connect returns results containing connected, connecting, or connection. |
Synonym Search | Finds results containing terms with similar meanings. | Searching for laptop returns results containing notebook. |
Split and Join Search | Splits or joins words to return relevant results. | Searching for featurerequest or feature request returns matching results. |
Prefix Search | Finds words that begin with the specified keyword. | Searching for serv returns results containing server or service. |
Field-Based Search | Searches for a keyword within a specific field using a colon (:). | Enter Subject:access to find requests containing access in the Subject field. |
Custom Module Search | Searches fields across custom modules. | |
User-Defined Field Search | Searches user-defined fields in the Assets, CMDB, and Projects modules. Newly created user-defined fields are dynamically included in the search. |
Zia Search does not support contains search (*keyword*). It uses prefix search (keyword*).
By default, Zia search uses the AND operator logic and returns results containing all of the entered keywords.
