Contract Relationships

Contract Relationships

You can map relationships between contracts from the same vendor as parent and child contracts.
  1. Contracts that are dependent on other contracts are called Child Contracts.
  2. The contract on which child contracts depend on is called the Parent Contract.
This relationship mapping allows you to nest multiple contracts within a single contract and ensure that the nested (or child) contracts are completed before the main (or parent) contract expires.

  1. If you manually close an active parent contract, then the associated child contracts will automatically expire.
  2.  The parent contract must be an active contract and the expiry date of the child contract cannot exceed the parent contract's expiry date.

Associate Child Contracts

On the contract details page, click Associate Child Contracts on the top of the page.
The contracts that can be associated as child contracts are displayed in a pop-up window. Select the contracts to associate and click Add.

  1.  You can manage the parent-child contract relationship only in the parent contract details page.
  2.  A parent contract can have multiple child contracts. However, a child contract can have only one parent contract.
  3.  A contract can either be a parent or a child at a given point in time, but not both.
  4.  If a parent contract's expiry is edited to a date that is before the child contract's expiry, the child contract will expire when the parent contract expires. However, you can reuse the child contract by editing it.
