Change Asset as Server

Convert IT devices misidentified as servers in AssetExplorer.

Use Cases:
  1. An all-in-one PC used as a server was identified by AssetExplorer as a workstation.
  2. A server was identified by AssetExplorer as a virtual machine.
  3. A server's alternate domain name was identified by AssetExplorer as a virtual host.
To update the devices as servers,

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, Technicians with Add/Edit Assets permissions.
  1. In the Assets tab, select your preferred asset classification - IT Asset or Virtual Hosts and VMs.
  2. Select the relevant asset product type - Workstations, Virtual Hosts, or Virtual Machines.
  3. On the asset list view, select the preferred assets.
  4. Go to Actions > Change as Server(s) on the toolbar.
  5. Select the server product type to which the asset must be moved.
  6. Click Save.

This operation is available only for Workstations, Servers, Virtual Hosts, and Virtual Machines.
