Auto-Assign Workstations

Automatically assign workstations to users based on the last login information.

Only Windows machines that have been scanned successfully can be auto-assigned.

The last logged user must be present in AssetExplorer with the same windows login name.

1. Go to workstation CI list view.
   
2. On the toolbar, click and select Auto-Assign Workstations.
   
3. Select the devices to be auto-assigned.
   
4. The last logged in user will be identified and suggested as the device owner.
   
1. You can change the owner by clicking % on the Suggested Owner column.
   
2. If a user is not present in AssetExplorer, enter their name manually.
   
5. On assigning, the CI will be moved to the owner's site by default. Click Retain user site as asset site check box on the Note section to move the owner to the device's site.
   
6. Click Assign.
   

Users added manually will be created in AssetExplorer and the workstation will be assigned to them.

You can also auto-assign workstations from the asset summary page.

When CIs created from assets are auto-assigned, the corresponding assets will also be auto-assigned.

This operation is available only for workstation CI type.
