Assign/Associate CI

Assign CIs to a User/Department/Site

Assign CIs to specific users or departments who are responsible for the usage of the asset. You can also associate an asset to related CIs in the organization.
  1. Go to the CI details page.
  2. Click Assign on the toolbar.
  3. In the pop-up displayed, select Assign User and/or Department.
  4. Select the user, department, or site where the CI is in use.
  5. Enable Asset is Loaned check box if the asset is only being assigned temporarily.
  6. Add any relevant comments about the assignment, if needed.
  7. Click Save.

You can also bulk assign CIs to a department or site from list view,
  1. Go to the CI list view.
  2. Select the preferred Cis to assign.
  3. Go to the Actions menu and select Assign to Department or Assign to Site.
  4. Select the site or department where the CI must be marked.
  5. Click Save.



Site-based licenses associated to workstations will be de-allocated if the workstation is reassigned to a different site.
This operation is not available for asset components added as CIs.

Associate CI to Asset

Link the CI with another asset. The CI usage is marked to the user/department assigned to the other asset.
  1. Go to the CI details page.
  2. Click Assign on the toolbar.
  3. In the pop-up displayed, select Associate to Asset.
  4. Select the asset to associate the CI with.
  5. Choose the Asset to associate the CI with.
  6. The selected asset's site details will be auto-populated. You can modify the Site if necessary.
  7. Add any relevant comments about the association, if needed.
  8. Click Save.

For asset components, you can associate them to CIs as follows,
  1. On the CI details page, click Associate on the toolbar.
  2. Select the CI to which the asset component must be associated.
  3. Add any relevant comments about the association, if needed.
  4. Click Save.

 For CIs created from asset, actions performed on a CI will be reflected on the corresponding asset as well.
