Assign Asset to Site/Department

Track the ownership and physical location of an asset within an organization.

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, Technicians with Add/Edit Assets permissions.

  1. In the Assets tab, select your preferred asset classification - IT Asset, Virtual Hosts and VMs, or Non-IT Assets.
  2. Select the asset product type.
  3. On the asset list view, select the preferred assets.
  4. In the Actions menu, select Assign to Site or Assign to Department.
  5. Select the site or department where the asset must be marked.
  6. Click Save.




Site-based licenses associated to workstations/server will be de-allocated if the workstation/server is reassigned to a different site.
This operation is not available for asset components.
