Barcode/QR Code Label Properties

Define and customize properties of barcode/QR code labels for better readability and asset tracking. Use the drag-and-drop canvas to add asset data, images, text, and design elements to labels.

Key Features

You can use label properties to:

Add company logos, barcodes, and QR codes to labels.
Add asset fields and static text for better asset identification.
Organize asset fields into sections and separate them by using horizontal or vertical lines.
Set background colors, padding, borders, fonts, sizes, and colors for asset fields and texts.
Apply styles to individual elements or the entire label.
Preview labels before printing and modify them, if required.

Add Label Property

Click on the Label Property field.
The Add Label form contains three sections: header, left panel, and canvas.

On the label configuration page, fill out the details as directed below.

Header

Provide the basic details of the label.

Name: Provide a name for the label.
Description: Briefly describe the label.
Site: Select the required site.

Left Panel

The left panel contains the following components:

Data: Include asset details in the label. Drag the required fields from Data to the canvas.

Currently, you cannot provide values for asset fields during the label configuration.

For existing assets, field values are fetched from the asset details, if available.

For new assets, only the Site and Asset State values can be fetched.

Elements: Allows you to add sections, text messages, lines, images or logos, and barcode/QR code. Drag the required elements to the canvas and customize them as required.

Style: Allows you to apply background color, padding, field alignment, border, shadow, width, height, depth, etc to all elements. Some style options are specific to individual elements.

The label size can be configured up to 5 inches.

Label: Configure the number of labels per row and the gap between labels.

Canvas

An environment that allows you to design your label.

Add fields and elements from the left panel.
Apply styles to elements and fields.
Right-click elements to perform additional actions.

Designing Tips:
Follow these recommendations to improve label readability:

Add borders to sections.
Align fields using padding.
Add background color to sections.

Add unique colors to each field.
Add images inside sections.

After configuring the label property, click Save.

The saved label property is available in the Label Property drop-down.
Select the required label property.
Click Continue to Print.
The Preview and Print section displays the label preview.
If the label is unclear, it is highlighted in yellow. You can remove unclear barcodes by selecting the Remove barcodes/QR codes that cannot be scanned properly checkbox.

After previewing the label, click Print or Test Print.

Group Fields

Section

A section is a block that allows you to add asset fields, images, and text.

Drag the section to the canvas.
Adjust the borders to resize it.
Right-click inside the section to insert fields.
Right-click a field to change the field, hide the label, align the label to the top or left, set the component as fixed or fluid, copy/paste styles, or delete it.

Text

Add content within a text box and make it more engaging.

Drag the text box to the canvas.
Apply styles from the left panel.
Resize the text box by dragging the borders.
Right-click the text box to clone, translate the text, set as fixed or fluid, or delete it.

Line

Use lines to separate sections and improve label appearance.

Drag the line to the canvas.
Use the Style component to set the line as horizontal or vertical, adjust thickness, line style, and color.
Right-click the line to clone, set as fixed or fluid, or delete it.

Image

Allows you to add images or logos to the label.

Drag the image element to the canvas.
Click the image element.
Click Upload Image on the left panel.

You can upload images from your device, choose from previously uploaded images in the My Images tab, or add an image using a URL.

After adding the image, you can resize it, align it with other elements, and adjust border, shadow, radius, padding, etc.
Right-click the image to modify its radius or delete it.

QR Code/Barcode

Add a QR code while creating a barcode, and vice versa.

Drag the Barcode/QR code element to the canvas.
To apply styles, go to the Design tab in the left panel.
To provide a custom text or URL, go to the Properties tab and provide the content in the Content field. You can view this content while scanning the code.

Fixed and Fluid Component

Sections, texts, and lines can be configured as a fixed or a fluid component.

Fixed Component: Restricts the size change of fields and texts while modifying the section's size.

Fluid Component: Allows fields and texts to resize automatically based on the section size.

Group Fields

Allows you to categorize similar fields together. Note that you can group fields only when they are in the same row.

To group fields, select the required fields, right-click, and select Group. By default, a hyphen is added between fields. Right-click on the hyphen to modify the separator.
To remove grouping, right-click the grouped fields and click Remove From Group.
