Add a New Domain

Role Required: SDAdmin

An agent is required for scanning Windows machines.  

To add a new domain in AssetExplorer,

1. Go to Admin > Discovery > Windows Domain Scan or click the scan button in the header pane and navigate to Windows Domain Scan.
   

1. Click Add New Domain.   
   

1. Enter the Domain/Workgroup Name.
   
2. Select the Public Domain check box to display the domain on the login screen when active directory authentication is enabled. Uncheck the box to list the domain as a Private Domain.
   
3. Enter the Domain Controller name for the Active Directory server.
   

The organizational units are listed only if the domain controller name is provided. 

1. Specify the Login Name and Password for the domain controller.
   
2. Enter the Description of the domain.
   
3. Click Save or Save and Scan now to scan the domain. Click Close to go back to the list view.
